Green School, Ubud, Bali Post #4

This is the Green School that my friend Callais goes to.  It is in Ubud, Bali and pretty cool.  The class rooms are made of bamboo and palm leaves and always outdoors.  The only airconditioning is in the ATM kiosk.  Here I am outside Grade 5.

This is a classroom.  The lecture area is this cool round desk with the teacher in the middle.  The design is too keep the students cool.

This is the main part of the school and the high school is upstairs.

This is a new classroom being built.  So neat to see how the frame is made.

The school raises endangered species and the critters are cared for by the students.  These are Bali Sway Back Pigs and were nearly extinct. My favorite guys, they were sooooo cute.

This was a protected bird.  I forgot the name.

These monkeys are also protected and they didn't have any for me to see, but they are the smallest monkey in the world.

I got to spend some time at the school and of course jumped into the sports with the students.

Every boy is from some other part of the world, but give us a soccer ball and a bamboo net, we're good! The secret to Global Peace!

Hope you enjoyed this post.  Next is "Hanging Out in Bali"
